I'm thinking about getting the G-Connect.  I will serve as a data source for my music library (mostly apple lossless) between the macbook and iPhone.  I don't need a battery and USB 2.0 is perfectly OK by me.  These were on sale for $49 at Frys earlier, 500GB for 50-$70 seems like a good deal.
