Just don't get beats if you are looking for sound quality...

If you are looking for bass heavy non- noise cancelling headphones, the v-moda m-80 and the v-moda crossfade lp would be great.
If you are looking for bass heavy noise cancelling, the velodyne vquites are great.

If you really want Beats (there are countless threads about Beats alternatives for way cheaper and better SQ), just don't pay attention to how genuine they are. The fake ones actually sound better to me (less drooling overall sound), and some of my non audiophile friends absolutely couldn't tell the difference.

Though build quality might be worse on the fakes.
 
Then yeah, as everyone will tell you, beats studios/pros are more like neckrings than proper headphones.
