I just made it work using a "USB 3.2" USB-C to USB-C cable, I didn't know there was a difference with any USB-C cables to be honest but it seems some do "data" and some are more for just charging (power usb-c cable)

There are a LOT of USB-C cables out there that are wired to do data, but are not properly set up to work reversibly. So they'll work with the connector inserted one way, but not the other.

USB-C should have been so much easier, but it's become such a mess, with so many not-to-spec cables, doing weird power-only, not-reversible, not supporting certain modes, and so on ... with NO way to tell from looking at the cable ... I wound up buying a USB-C analyzer just so I could figure out which cables were which, and label them accordingly.

I'd say 90% of the USB-C cables out there, including some well known name-brand stuff, does not support what you'd expect it to ...

After a few years, replacing the battery can significantly enhance the sound quality due to the low internal resistivity of only 0.17 ohms. Additionally, the new 4200mAh battery extends the usage time, resulting in clearer, punchier, and more dynamic sound.
Perfect Again.

Apologies, my technician acquired it from a local agent, so there isn't a purchase link available.

I've noticed some batteries on AliExpress, but they haven't been qualified yet.

I wish A&K would make their own USB-C to USB-C cable!

Has anyone else had problems with the volume control accentuater, mine became loose and has now gone missing, making it almost impossible to change the volume,

Any advice greatly appreciated, thanks in advance
The crown on these players is known to wiggle around a bit if you meant that. They did that to prevent it from breaking off easily, which would happen if it was too stiffly attached. If the scrolling movement itself is too loose, making it hard to accurately change volume, you'll probably need a repair, or turn it really slowly.

It’s gone! I need a sensible cheap solution to put something in the slot so I can turn it, must be plenty of things that will fit and be able to turn it, was flimsy design

Does the SP2000 stop charging through the USB-C cable when on DAC mode? I've experienced when its connected and not in DAC mode but just file explorer, it does charge but then when I use it as a DAC it gets drained rapidly, does it stop charging?

Unfortunately it cannot be user replaced. You would need to send it into Astell&Kern for replacement.

I appreciate you getting back to me Jason.
I had feared this may have been the case.
The astell & kern customer service is notoriously very unhelpful.

I have been so careful with the A&K. it was a very expensive product. The volume attenuator came loose and off out of nowhere! Something that should not happen on such an expensive product. Clearly no soldering or any kind of care was taken in that aspect of the design..

Just wondered if you knew If there was maybe, perhaps a universal tool )such as a one size fits all button) which I could just effectively place over the button needle, serving as a replacement. I gather that isn’t that case. I guess it’s similar to losing a part from an expensive car. Very unfortunate,

I’d like to take this opportunity again to thank you for responding to me promptly and helpfully, and wish you every success in the future
Kindest regards Steve Chambers
