I recently got an Astell & Kern SP1000M after the volume knob on my trusty AK100 began playing up.
Firstly, the sound quality is great, a big step up from the AK100, but overall the device feels unfinished and I'm wondering if I should return it and try a different player.
The main problem I'm having is it rescans my SD card each time I turn the device on. On my old AK100 it only did this if you removed and reinserted the card, or wrote to it. The knock on effect is it takes about 20 minutes after turning it on before my music is available to listen to. This makes it a non-starter for a portable music player. Is anyone else experiencing this? Am I doing something wrong?
In addition to the above problem the boot up time is slow, around 2 minutes, once it's booted up I get an error message that the process has stopped responding and if I want to wait or close it, then finally it takes a few minutes to notice the SD card before the scanning takes place.
Overall I'm pretty disappointed and hope there's a simple fix to this.
