So I saw an ad here on head-fi for atomic floyd IEMs so I clicked it and was surprised to be brought to a professional looking website. They look decent, having primarily metal builds. What interested me the most was the descriptions of the sound provided by the manufacturers.
Now, I know these descriptions often lie, especially in the case with beats with the slogan "hear your music the way the artists intended you to hear" but the descriptions provided by atomic floyd interested me...

" Acid sharp details. Vivid mids. Bass like molten gold."

Found here:

So what I'm wondering, what are these "acid sharp" details?

There are a couple reviews around if you do a search for the SuperDarts. I believe they have a v-shaped response.

MiniDarts have a pretty balanced sound to them that focus on the midrange.  The SuperDarts have a deep V in them...  Here are links to my reviews:

  2. MiniDarts: http://www.ifans.com/blog/31464/

Although the MiniDarts are more of my cup of tea, I still have to say that the SuperDarts have better overall quality.  The MiniDarts have some sibilant highs that are recessed that really bring down the IEM as a whole.  The midrange detailing is kind of in your face and sharp (which is what htey mean by acid-sharp detailing).  Lows extend deeper with more of a sub-bass focus, but lack a punch whiling maintaining a great impact and good texture.
