"Hello squeaky right cup!"
The solutions discussed so far have only been for the left cup, so you may be on your own on this one.
Too many jokesters!

I got my refund from my Elex & I'm thinking about buying one of the last remaining Zebra sets. I would like some clarification on the bass of the Atticus though. Some of you think that they aren't bassy enough for EDM/Rap & the Eikon would be the better pick for those. I'll re-read the thread, but that's an interesting take even if the bass isn't as linear.

Not bassy enough may not be the right explanation though I can see where that impression comes from.
The midbass hump and quicker lower frequency rolloff results in a slightly warmer, euphonic bass presentation with the sub-bass less present. Having said that, the Atticus does beautifully with EDM (to my ears) provided there is good synergy with the amp. That factor probably has the greatest bearing on getting the best out of the Atticus (and all ZMFs actually).
The more linear Eikon sound still has the fun element that EDM demands, though slightly more sparkle / transparency up to (which EDM benefits from) and a bit more thwack in the sub-bass region.

I can't comment on the Eikon, but the Atticus has a very nice (not too much) mid-bass hump and thumps with authority. The reason why the Atticus might not be amazing for some is because the sub bass rolls off somehwat and the timbre/tonality is far more suited for real (acoustic or electric) instruments. It's incredible and rich.
The good part is that voices sound so good on the Atticus and the rolled treble can tame some crappy EDM/rap mastering.
If I used my Atticus with my PC where I can EQ the sub bass, I would absolutely use them for EDM/rap, even if the timbre/tonality isn't super suited for electronic music. I can also confirm the Atticus can respond very well to sub bass EQ. The best TOTL headphones I've heard for EDM and contemporary pop and rap is the HP-3.

I'll be running it with a CTH & everyone Zach included raves about the combo so I should be good there. Not bassy enough may not be the right explanation though I can see where that impression comes from.

I've EQ'd my LCD-2Cs so if need be I could do the same for the Atticus. Either that or pad swap to the suede pads as suggested elsewhere in the thread.I can't comment on the Eikon, but the Atticus has a very nice (not too much) mid-bass hump and thumps with authority. I'm leaning Atticus. I want something with more mid-bass because my 2Cs have the sub covered.
In my experience the suede pads dull the mid bass hump and make the Atticus more linear. Less 'thump' though, if that's what you're looking for. Currently I'm finding the Elear has more of a visceral "kick" than the Atticus, but the Atticus has bigger, more enveloping bass, if that makes sense. Both are great for EDM/electronica, in my opinion. Maybe not specialist cans for this genre, but far better than most mid-fi options (other than perhaps the Fostex variants).I'll be running it with a CTH & everyone Zach included raves about the combo so I should be good there.

Thump is what I'm looking for, so maybe EQ is the better route. I've heard the Elear & it does thump but the bass isn't as tight as I'd like. That midrange hole too man I just can't do it. For a while I was considering the Fidelio X2s or the TH-X00s but both are fairly v-shaped. A lot of contemporary r&b I listen to is pretty bassy so both bass & midrange are important to me.In my experience the suede pads dull the mid bass hump and make the Atticus more linear. Yeah I'd definitely go Atticus then. Can't really compare the SQ of the Elear/Atticus to X2/X00 (both of which I've heard extensively, one of which (X00) I owned and miss very much but ONLY for that head-shaking bass). I'm still trying to find the midrange hole in my Elear - either it's not there or it's perfectly suited to my hearing taste. As for tight bass, doesn't get much tighter than my LCD-3, but the Atticus/Elear are both bigger and thumpier - and I'd take either over the LCD-3 for EDM.Thump is what I'm looking for, so maybe EQ is the better route. Has anyone heard the Atticus out of a Mainline? I have heard that the Mainline sounds pretty refined, relaxed, intimate and I'm curious if the combo with the Atticus would sound good or if they would benefit from something slightly brighter?
