Anyone here have experience with both that can chime in on how they compare? When I read the specs, both have quite low impedance, but at the same time are recommended to be used with an amp?

Anyone here have experience with both that can chime in on how they compare? When I read the specs, both have quite low impedance, but at the same time are recommended to be used with an amp?

The impedance is not as much a factor as sensitivity is especially with the Sundara at 94 dB/mW and for me really does need a amp but not for sure about the EL-8 open at 102 dB/mW don’t own them but have heard them several times and should do fine without a amp. That said I’ll opt for a amp on just about any headphone I have while sometimes using the Apple USB-C dongle out of my iPad is fine for a lot of them for convenience.
