I disagree, a well balanced HD650 sounds amazingly good.

I have yet to hear a balanced HD650 so until I do the difference is night and day between the two especially when using an aftermarket balanced/unbalanced cable for the LCD-2

All that talk of a balanced HD 650 is making me want to try one.

Just wondering - do any of you have a balanced cable that can be used with the HD 650 that you'd be willing to lend me? If you're up for that, I'd really appreciate if you'd message me.

Many thanks,
Windsor

Nice!  Hopefully someone will be able to provide quick impressions of the new headband soon.

Question for early LCD-2 owners: Have any of you experienced any degradation or damage to the foam since you received your LCD-2s?  From what I've read, the foam holds up pretty well, though it would be nice to know how they're still holding up after several months to a year.

Nice!

Audeze listened to their customers and created what looks like a great leather headband. I just ordered one along with a set of spare ear pads. For LCD2's I want Audeze all the way. DIY? Not for me.

Thanks and kudos to Alex and Sankar!

Nice looking headband but $100?  http://www.audeze.com/leather-headband

It's only $50 extra if you purchase a brand new LCD-2 with the leather headband. Odd that they'd charge $100 for a separate purchase.

Covering up the cheap looking foam with leather for another one hundred dollars plus shipping, you've got to admire their nerve! DIY solution anyone?

So now the LCD-2 is finished?

I would guess no more tweaks.

I'm happy to pay $100 because it is worth it to me. If it wasn't, I wouldn't buy it.   It is an option.  No one has to buy one.  The stock headband works fine.  If buying new, you get the option of stock or upgrade for $50?  Seems fair to me.
