Hey guys,

I haven't been Head-Fi'ing or Headwizing much lately. Ah life..so little time and so many things to do.

Anyway, I just dug out my MDR-CD3000 and one of my home made test CDs. Test in the "show off" sense, I sometimes compile a few CDs with tracks that have particularly interesting sound engineering for the CD3K. Never failed to impress a friend with these.

Anyway, I'm listening to this one right now and remembering why I liked the spacious and detailed CD3000 so much when I first listened to them...

Here are the tracks I picked.. if anyone has been making similar CDs, perhaps you can paste your tracks. Note that these are not a matter of musical preference, but mostly of wow-factor due to the great sound engineering.

Each of this tracks is truly impressive with the CD3K and perhaps with most good cans. Some are obvious (We all know Dave Matthews CD usually have good sound engineering) but others were a surprise to me. Yeah I know, too much Corrs, I must have been lazy on the CD-swapping&DAEing that day.

I have a similar CD that I use to audition audio equipment. I first made it when I startes shopping around for new headphones about a year ago. Has a nice mix of everything to really test out the equipment, it must play Tori and Cowboy Junkies and get all the nicely recorded musical details across while still being able to rock out to Metallica at hearing damage volumes without distorting. And it's gotta do everything in between real well too.

1. Tori Amos - Pretty Good Year (Under the Pink)
2. Tori Amos - Blood Roses (Boys for Pele)
3. Tori Amos - Wrong Band (Under the Pink)
4. Cowboy Junkies - Blue Moon (Trinity Sessions)
5. Cowboy Junkies - Sweet Jane (Trinity Sessions)
6. Cat Stevens - Moonshadow (Greatest Hits)
7. Cat Stevens - Morning Has Broken (Greatest Hits)
8. Cat Stevens - Peacetrain (Greatest Hits)
9. Chantal Kreviazuk - Believer (Under these Rocks and Stones)
10. Chantal Kreviazuk - Before You (Colour Moving and Still)
11. Chantal Kreviazuk - Eve (CM&S)
12. Chantal kreviazuk - Green Apples (UtR&S)
13. Metallica - For Whom the Bell Tolls (Ride the Lightning)
14. Metallica - Fade to Black (Ride the Lightning)
15. Metallica - Orion (Master of Puppets)
16. Metallica - Call of Ktulu (Ride the Lightning)
