Hi!

As the title says, I'm looking for IEM for under $100 (preferably around $50) for working out. Something that will not shock my ears, light, sweat friendly, and of course something that will sound great.

Thanks.

I highly recommend the Jaybird Endorphin Rush
They have a LIFETIME warranty against sweat, are very comfortable, and have a warm, bassy sound that is perfect for working out. They are my go-to phones for the gym and perfect for that purpose.

You can get them for $60 from here: (and maybe less if you shop around)

Edit: I notice they are out of stock!
  Amazon has them ($85)

  or ebay ($75 OBO)

Sennheiser also makes several sport earphone/earbud models. Several look good but I have never tried them!

Hrm.. You guys sure spend a lot of money for gym earphones. I personally use the MEElectronics M6 at the gym. Why?

Let's see, It isolates fairly well, it sounds decent enough, and did I mention its about 20 bucks? The way I see it, Earphones at the gym are highly prone to damage whether by sweat, snag or accidental damage. I myself have replaced several earphones because of this.

Maybe one of these days I'll man up and try one of the sennheiser sports series or something, but for now the M6 does a mighty fine job.

I like the Sennheiser CX 680s because of their features. Would there be a tremendous difference between those and the Jaybird Endorphin Rush? They're pretty much the same price.

Sennheiser Ie6 at Amazon for $111.

I know they're $11 over your budget but their dynamic sound will beat out a lot of the cheaper stuff.  The over the ear  function will keep them secure when working out.

A note of caution....if your ruin earphones easily, then just get cheap IEMs (sort of like sunglass folk who carry cheap shades b/c they ALWAYS lose their shades...why spend more, right?).

If you go thru IEMs over 2-3+ years then it's worth to invest in better sound.....I use $155 Vsonic GR07 for my jogs/workouts and I expect to have them for many years down the road.

Also keep in mind that cheap IEMs will have cheap cables and connections and subsequently wear out faster.

I had the IE6s for about two years and I loved them.  Definitely a good gym IEM...tho they don't have a ton of bass coming out of anything other than a device you can tweak the EQ on.  Basically not good with iPods if you like bass...anything else, they are fantastic.

While I used the Ety6's for a number of years, the last three or four years I've loved the Ety4S.  Sound sure, but the isolation (w Comply tips) is what seals the deal for me.  Let's face it:  working can be boring so why not spend some cash to get a great sound?

Jaybird ER on sale for $49 (through J&R) definitely a good deal for that price, especially since you still get the great lifetime warranty against sweat!

Hi there, im in the same position,

Highly recommend the meelec m6 but left them in thailand :frowning2:   can only find them in the for around $60 and considering the were her for 20 when i got them i dont wanna pay that much.  They are great sounding buds for the money and hard to be for that price point.

personally i like to use over the ear phones so narrows a bit for me i used to have shure (i think 201)  and they were great but for the price there are better sounding phones.

I have the audeo pfe 112 and tbh there the best sounding iems iv heard next to customs.  Also they are very light as the previous poster mentions.

I may look into the jaybirds due to the lifetime warranty etc.

i recommend the Brainwavz M3 easily for working out.

they are meant to be worn over the ear and they will stay on without issues. the build quality is very good for the price so you wont have to worry about messing up the cord. the sound signature is very balanced, neutral so that you can enjoy any genre of music with it plus it has a nicely spaced soundstage to add.

the meelec m6 are a nice choice too because its worn over the ear and has a very good build quality. the signature is def V shaped which im not a fan of and the highs can be fatiguing but theyre a great choice nevertheless because of its low price.
