I'd say they're a fun choice for that. They're very v shaped with a heavy bass boost and a treble boost but also have a good soundstage for being closed.

Believe it or not, I actually returned them soon after my purchase. This may only be me, but I feel like the headphones clamped down on the very back of my jawbone.

The "Pro" Beyers tend to do that. Usually the velour pads make up for it but it is a personal thing whether you really find them comfortable enough.

My head isn't the smallest on the planet by any stretch of the imagination, so I wonder if it will effect me. I'm not too worried about that really though.
 
When you say "heavy bass boost", how heavy are we talking? Bass head levels or less than that? I dont mind some bass but I'm by no means a bass head.

The 80 ohm version is quite a boost. A bit more than the M50x and deeper, for example.
