Cayin HA-3A, a Compact 6V6s Transformer-coupled Tube Amplifier

The Envy seems to be more powerful (from what I read).
but power (assuming you are speaking about dB/volume) is not something to worry about with HA-3A, never used volume knob above 50%, normally 25% is loud enough... and I'm using RCAs, if you use XLR interlinks to XLR output (there are 3 gain modes), probably there is no headphones that can't be driven to full potential with this amp

Has anyone used E80Cc with HE1000 Stealth, bit concerned they may be a bit too much. Also a bit concerned about the long term stress on the amp. Currently I am more than happy running the Gold lion tubes, very detailed, wide stage, just curious if I can push the sound to even greater heights
Listened a few hours today to the HE1000 stealth and I have to say there is an improvement in SQ vs my 12AU7 Raytheon, but not a step change as I've experienced with with ZMF AO. I have to say, that I find the HE1000 Stealth is such a great HP, they are really versatile and easy to find synergies, they play well in all my devices.

So, I never heard the gold lion (but people speak highly abou it), but I would keep it and wouldn't move to E80CC... unless you find some at a good price and in that case you can always re-sell them.

Hope it helps you

Very helpful thanks. I have to admit I am blown away by the Gold Lion’s currently, great 3D soundstage. Seems to work well with the HE1000. I did try some Apos Ray tubes that were very good but too sparkly for my HE1000, did not sound natural to me. I have some Reflektor 6V6 which are nice but the Gold Lions are cleaner and more open. I will just get on and enjoy my music for now.

Has anyone ever compared the Genalex Gold Lions with NOS tubes. I really like the Gold Lions, very hard to pick any fault with them, detailed, very good bass texture, good bass impact & pretty balanced across the range, maybe slightly dark but that suits myHE1000. Just curious to know if any NOS tubes could make a worthwhile difference. I have read several reviews where users stated the Gold Lion’s were better than a lot of their NOS tubes.
I had the 6v6 goood lion paired to tungsram e80cc and the sound was harsh, didn't liked it. The
Also tried them to the stock harmonix and it was ok, haven't tried the harmonix with other NOS tough, so I can't tell how it modified the sound.
I might try that in the next days.

Is there any kind of amp that would share performance quality with ha-3a being headamp and preamp (for speakers) at once?
