Cayin N3 Hi-Res DAP with AKM4490 DAC, apt-X Bluetooth, and Line, USB & Coax Out for $150

Cayin is releasing the N6ii but it will cost more than 800€ for sure, so a modern entry level DAP from 150-250€ would be great.

So basically an N3ii with Streaming and AptX-HD etc. I'm sure Cayin has something in the pipe for this, and seeing as the N6 was released before the N3 it stands to reason that the N3ii is next in line.

Hi!
I´m planning to buy a Cayin N3, Did somebody have use this DAP with a HD58x? Regards!
Sounds fantastic together with 58x. Also if you like wireless earphone then try the Anbes 359 beautiful wide soundstage, clear sparkle treble(no harshness) great mids and bass. I'm guessing no new N3 with BT 5.0/aptXHD. Maybe next year.

Hi Andy Kong.

A replacement for the N3 similar to fiio m6 running third party android apps would be great.:L3000:

@Andykong is enjoying vacations now but it would be nice if Cayin would announce a N3ii this year but probably only next year.

Cayin announced their first IEM today, the YB04.

Hi,
This is my first post here. I have bought a Cayin N3 and tried to connect it to my iPhone X using Hiby. It connects well and I can control the music. But no sound comes out of my iPhone. I have upgraded the Cayin N3 to the latest firmware. I appreciate your help.

Welcome my friend. May I ask, why do you want to listen out of your phone when the N3 sounds light years better?

I guess I am confused as to what connecting with Hiby is supposed to do. I thought the sound was supposed to come out of the Cayin.

HiBy Link is a Bluetooth control app, which allows you to use a phone or tablet (with a larger screen) to control the music players that are compatible with it, including the N3.
You can put the Music Player away in your pocket, with your earphones connected, and then control it remotely with your phone/tablet.
The app is not designed to send the actual music data over the Bluetooth link.

Good to know. I don't use a smartphone and all my music is on an sd card inside the Cayin so obviously I do not need Hiby...but now I can understand why some people want it.

@Farhad Have you put your music on a card and put it in the Cayin or is all of your music on your phone?

Hi, the headphone jack of my N3 is failing, only one channel works. Has this happened to anyone before? And if so can it be replaced/ fixed?

So, today arrived my Marshall Bluetooth Monitor headphones and paired with my N3 it is good, same very good sound as using it wired! For anyone who need good sound and in the same time not willing to look like a monster with some big ugly tone of buttons thing over the head, please consider this ones... Just to pay attention of your source due to many Chinese fakes!!!

After less than 2 years my N3 battery is becoming unpredictable: i use it everyday while i'm running so for the last 20 months i could use it more than a week without recharging, all of a sudden the battery charge to 100% and when i play it the day after it starts at 77% (23% lost during the night while it's off, obviously).
Same thing the day after from 69% to 43% (26% less during night time).
A little disappointed as i love it (hard to read because of the too tiny characters but i make do) and want to use it for a long time (all my mp3 players/DAP always last for years, i still have a Samsung from 2004).
Where can i buy a new battery? What kind of battery should i opt for if there's something more reliable than the original one?

edit: i found this:

new 3.7V 3400mah, so it differs from the N3's 2500mah and 3.8V.
And the connectors look weird, but i'm a noob when it comes to electricity.
Is it a problem? Where do you find a good battery for your N3? Please, i'd be sad to put it in a drawer...

Yes, N3 is due for revision after N6ii, but I don't have a date or design draft so far, so no comment on the successor right now, but to the best of my knowledge, all options on table are not Android based.

If you can control music playback, you have connected to your iphone in HiByLink. This is a resource sharing/remote control Bluetooth protocol: your iphone become a remote control of the DAP, and you can browse the metadata of your N3 Music Library on your iPhone. This protocol does not allow you to play your music from mobile phone to N3, or from N3 to mobile phone.

Before you consider anything drastic such as replacing the battery, maybe you can calibrate the gauge of the lithium battery and see if this will help. Check out my previous explanation on the battery calibration issue HERE, hope this will help.
