I am looking for an amp that I can use to EQ my headphones a little more with. I don;'t really know what I'm looking for, other than that I want to be able to add some more bass and adjust the mids and highs, and that it won't leave my desktop. Headphones it will be running out of include HFI 580 and Koss KSC 75, and hopefully a higher end open headphone in the near future.
Reasons I want an amp:
-I can't seem to find a good laptop equalizer and don't want to open up my laptop to install a new sound card.
-My Nexus 7 (which I use over my laptop because it has a decent EQ app) is a little too weak to power it
-I usually run through Bose companion 2's (a speaker amp) and I can't adjust the EQ. Also, I use my speakers a lot and don't like having to plug/unplug my heaphones continously.

Also, I have a 1/4in. plug if needed. I really dont know what to look for, but here is what I am looking at anyways.

Again, I don't know if these are good options because I know so little.

Edit: this seems to fit the bill. I'm ok that its a little over my price range, is it worth it?

the electric q equalizer plugin for foobar is great make sure you equalize downward under the 0 db line. if you equalize upwards it will cause clipping/distortion.

Get foobar off of the site:http://www.foobar2000.org/ If you get a trojan or whatever, your antivirus might be crap.

If you plan on just an Amp, you might want to check to make sure that your source isn't full of junk, crap goes in, loud crap comes out. But that isn't really under $100 if you get both the DAC and amp. Fiio might be a good choice for cheaper DACs and Amps.

Haha. I'm running off my onboard sound right now.

Saving up for a Schiit Modi/Magni combo, or some Asus sound card. Too poor to afford anything else.
