The amp alone 6500$ or headphone + amp?

6500$ for a stand alone amp is quite something to ask.

Raal with Bass still sounds promising, especially at a price like that

That is correct. The amp is $6500, the headphone may be $2900.

I’m all for it if it’s as good as SR1a with the added bass. Perhaps it can replace my SR1a and then I can add TC into the mix.

Well SR1a with DSP settings (especially your modified amir’s settings which I adjusted further to suit my system) is quite heavenly already. I don’t know how the sound can be improved further. But of course, a true ribbon circumaural is very intriguing indeed

I just got the SR1a not long ago......
dammit.

Acoustic room is as important as driver itself, so I believe the circumaural Raal won't sound like sr1a at all. They will different enough to keep both
