Hi!
If used unamped I always prefered Denon AH-D600 over HD700 (even from FiiO X1, X3 and X5 Denon D600 will always beat HD700). Better bass, fuller sound, very good clarity and surprisingly good soundstage. There are certainly more good alternatives out there for sure but that is what I personally experienced.

It's an excellent headphone, as is the HP150. I imagine you will be quite happy with them.

If you didn't have the 700's properly amped then your missing out on what they can do. Have not heard the Soundmagics's so I don't know but the 700's soundstage and detail are just a step below the 800's but not by much.
