I have a vintage Akai receiver in a secondary system where I use a small Sony mp3 player connected to an "aux" input for playing music. The sound doesn't seem that good to me so I'm wondering if I could use my Dragonfly Red to play music from a laptop? Would the amp in the Dragonfly cause issues since the receiver obviously also has an amp?

The Red's headphone amplifier does not directly work with the Akai's speaker amplifier.
In the Dragon fly Red directions, it shows the Red connected to a receiver, so should not be an issue.

The more I thought about it, I think it will be like a different level of gain such as on many headphone amps. Instead of a the typical line voltage it will be elevated which means I probably won't have to turn the volume up as much. Thanks for the input.
