Whats the story with 'context engineering' I have sent two emails to no avail.
I'm trying to find some info regarding price and finishes. Their website has to win an award for being the most spartan, most annoying. Has anyone used one of their cases with an alternate finish? Photos please.

They can be slow with email, I'd imagine a phone call (although in your case impractical) would yield much better results. Their cases are pretty nice though, much better finish than the Hammonds. I've only used the clear and black options.

Their e-mail is not responsive at all, just give 'em a call. I've only used black and I've seen clear too but never other finishes.

Those are (2) black 6008s and a black 6016.

Yes, I believe that circuit specialists and at least one other retailer carry the cases. If they are nearby enough to actually go to a store you'd potentially be in for a nice surprise, from what I've been told they're cheaper in the store than they are online.

board dimensions are on amb's site and i imagine that most cases should include dimensions in their specs...

It won't fit into any of the stock case sizes. You'll need to get the 350 or 550 and then specify the width and depth. I've used context extensively for Rockhopper. Calling gets you better results, but they are not really fond of small orders. It's tough to get mistakes fixed as well. Well, it's been hit or miss. The cases are nice, but pricey. A 350DT case with a width of 20 and a depth of 13 clear anodized will run you about $225. A 13 X 13 350DT case clear anodized will run you about $200 (that's just for one...the price goes down as you order more.)

A group buy would probably get the prices down below $175 or so.

Edit: The split body cases listed above are nice and easy to work with....the panels are easy to drill and could easily be replaced with FPE panels. The 350DT cases have support ridges on the front and back panel that support the top and bottom panel...FPE doesn't do that.

Also, context will quote you want you ask for and not really let you know about options unless you specifically ask them.

Circuit Specialists is about 30 minutes from my house. I'll have to check on the prices next time I'm in there.
