Hi,

Any recommendations for a desktop HP amp that will work with both the Senn 580s and also the Denon 2000s? I listen to primarily jazz and rock but do like to listen to a little of almost everything (except bluegrass and heavy metal - just not my thing.) I also tend to listen at a loud volume.

Hoping for the following within a budget of around $750:
• Works with both Senn 580 and Denon 2000
• Tube, SS or hybrid
• Able to switch between two inputs
• Small enough to be transportable (although this isn't set in stone)

Thanks in advance for your help.

Any suggestions? Please let me know if there's any additional info I can provide.

Also, maybe I should mention that this will be my first amp so I don't really have a defined sound that I'm looking for - looking for something that I can grow into, use to learn more about my new hobby and have fun with. (So it may not be the last amp I'll ever own but a good starter.)

Thanks again.

Source?

Do some homework on solid state and tube amps. It may help your direction. If you put your price in the amp F/S forum search, you will get some ideas to follow up on. I won't recommend because I don't have experience with many amps. I'd just be fanning my amp and that's not helping you.
