Forward words:
First, I would like to thank Audio Geek’s founder,
@deep2285, Craft Ears, and USA tour administrator, for allowing me to audition for the Omnium (
https://craftears.com/products/craft-ears-omnium-universals/) link to the products mentioned for pricing and specifications.
Disclosure:
I want to clarify that I’m not a reviewer; I’ve been active in the audio community and was fortunate to be invited to join the Audio Geek. So, in other words, you’re getting impressions from my time with the Craft Ears Omnium and humble sonic knowledge with decades of music listening and multiple in-ear monitor flight hours.
Physicality:
It looks fine. It’s made of 3D-printed resin, and its faceplate has a carbon pattern design with golden aluminum edges. It is very light and does not have rough edges.
Their size is medium to large, but they feel like a small iem. Their fit is comfortable for long listening sessions, and their isolation is excellent. And I used a Wide Bore tip.
Hardware:
I only used the original cable with a 4.4mm termination, iBasso DX180 for sources, and a KAEI TAP1 amp in Tube mode at high gain.
Sound:
It is balanced with mid-high focus; it has a W-shape.
The bass's texture is layered, and it goes deep with decay. Its focus is more on the sub-bass than the mid-bass; I describe it as punchy and rumbly. They also bleed into the Mids, giving them warmth.
The Mids are forward-center and focused on the Mid-highs. The tone and timbre are excellent. Male or female voices are lively and very detailed.
The treble extends gracefully, delivering "highlight" and sparkle without being harsh. The "air" in the higher frequencies adds quality to the soundstage, enhancing spatial cues. Separation is amazing.
Staging and imaging are great, too; it’s wider than taller and not too deep. Elliptical.
Conclusion:
I’ve lived with the Craft Ears Omnium for over two weeks, although with the holidays in between, I would’ve liked to spend more listening time. They have left a great impression and are one of my first TOTL listening experiences.
For those who have ISN H60, it reminded me of them as they are similarly tuned and sounding, but on another level.
The Omnium is a bold and smooth-sounding in-ear monitor with Mid-high emphasis.
