New Head-Fier
Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum as well as audio in general and had a few questions.
First and foremost thank you for taking the time to read this. Secondly I listen to a good 95% Hip Hop, so I need that bass from outer space, the kinda bass that inspired simulation theory, the kinda bass that comes from the bowels of hell and the kinda bass that turns good men bad.. in other words quality over quantity but quantity.
Im currently using a HiBy FC1 on account it was cheap but wanted to start experimenting with different DAC/Amps. I've read here that because the R9s are colored(and being easy to drive) that it's best to stick with a neutral DAC/Amp.
1. What are your thoughts on using a R2R DAC like the HiBy FC6, Cayin RU6 or Mojo 2? Too much of a good thing, too colored(and their effect on bass)?
2. What about one of the ifi products with xBass turned on? I've read here that it helps with lows on the R9.. but again, too much of a good thing?
Thanks
