I have some ATC SCM40A speakers on their way. I have been using an Auralic Aries Mini for streaming prior to this upgrade.
I am looking to upgrade the DAC and I'd like to keep boxes to a minimum, so a DAC/preamp combination is ideal and possibly a one-box solution that includes streaming.
I have narrowed it down to the following options based on discussions and research:
- Chord Hugo TT2, possibly with the M-Scaler, using my Aries Mini as a streaming input.
- Auralic Vega G2.
- Linn Akurate DSM with Katalyst.
I have yet to hear them but hope to do so soon but I would be interested in opinions on these options.
I have had a couple of people suggest using the Qutest into a passive preamp. It's a possibility but I'm not sure it's the way I want to go.
