Hello,

I'm pretty sure this question raised before many times, but I'm lost in tons of messages, so ask again.

1. What's the difference between 880 and 990 in terms of sound (or just point me, where it's described)
2. Both 990 and 880 have different models. E.g. Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO - costs about $230 in my local internet store, and Beyerdynamic DT 990 Edition 600 Om about $350.

So waht's the difference, and where I should aim?

The DT990 has a more bass and generally more musical than the DT880. DT880 is a little more analytical. The PRO and Edition have aesthetic differences, that's about it, at least that's true of the DT880s, not absolutely sure on the DT990s.
 
Mainly it's how you like your sound. Oh, you need a powerful amp for both.

Thank you for clarification. As for amp - I have Fiio E7 and PA2V2. Would they be OK, or no chance to manage with inexpensive amp at all?

It depends on what impedance model you choose. The E7 should be OK with the 250 Ohm ones, but if you prefer loud listening levels, you may not be satisfied with the combination of E7 and 600 Ohm headphones. I am not sure about the PA2V2, but from the limited information I found, it seems to have comparable maximum output voltage to that of the E7, so there is possibly not a large difference between using only the E7, and the E7 amplified by the PA2V2.
