Does Headroom Total Bithead have enough juice to power 600 Ohms headphones in hi-gain mode...

NO

Nope. 600ohm headphones require way more voltage swing than a portable amp is going to provide you.

Are you speaking from experience? Because my experience with 600 ohm K240s is that they are pretty easy to drive. The Practical Devices X4 has no problem driving them, although with a 12V wall wart. I've never had clipping or sloppy bass. The sound is almost identical, when volume matched, to my vintage receivers and Starving Student Millet Hybrid.

With a battery is a different story.

I have no experience with the Total Bithead, so I don't know if it will work. A/V receivers are a crap shoot. Some of them are good and some are bad. I tried my 250 ohm DT880 with a Yamaha AV receiver for someone here who had the receiver and was thinking of buying the Beyer. It sounded very nice.

i just dug up specs for total bithead...

Description:

Battery-powered headphone amplifier. Includes rubber feet, Velcoin Velcro discs, USB-to-mini-USB cable, 1/8"-to-1/8" audio cable.

Maximum voltage gain with 300 ohm load: 11.2dB.
Maximum THD+N, 20Hz-20kHz, 300 ohm load: 0.15%.
Input impedance at 1kHz: 20,000 ohms.
Output impedance at 1kHz: 1.7 ohm.

so AKG K240DF and AKG K240M + bithead is no go...?

That's even worse than a battery. If it gets the power from USB, that's only 5.5V.

How about this non "monitor" edition... can it be powered by bithead? I saw a regular akg k240 for sale, on the left/right side that marks "AKG" with silver aluminum disks it says "FOR OUTPUTS 4-600 Ohms." I guess that the M and even the DF version is strictly 600 Ohms and my little bithead can't power them.... ri9ght?

That's the Sextett which is the first K240. The K240S or the current model K240 MK II are probably the only ones that can be driven by the bithead.
