Hello,

I am looking for a new headphone in the $500-600 range. I already have an amp that will sufficiently power 250Ω. I have been using a pair of DT770s for about 6 years, prior to that I was using the ATH A900s. I would say my listening goes as follows.

50% listening to music at home
25% Producing on Ableton
25% FPS gaming.

I have heard that the DT1990 Pros treble peak can be a bit irritating for people who are sensitive to it. I have always been a bit sensitive to this myself so I'm not sure if the 1990s would be a bit harsh for home listening. These two headphones were just a base for my research. If anyone has recommendations for a headphone in this range for those applications I'm very open to hearing them all. Thanks

Takstar HF 580 planar headphones, with Sendyaudio AVIA ear pads.
About $250 for the combo.

How about the Beyer DT-1770 Pro? Within your budget, very clear with deep bass, not peaky (to me), 250 ohms. Note: closed back, firm clamp (which I do not mind).

I really like the 660S. Very engaging treble and with the right setup games just fine. Bifrost2+Jot2 really grips the crap out of these cans. The bass though is just extremely engaging on these cans. One of my favorites.
