Looking to switch out my headphone and try the HE-400.  Would it be much of an upgrade going from the DT-880 to the HE-400.  Also, I don't want to keep too many phones, so not sure if I would sell the DT-880 or the Denon D2000 after I purchase the HE-400.  I hate Head-Fi, gives me too much options to look into.

I don't know about "better"... it will most likely just be a different sound. Honestly, most "up"grades are more like side grades in the audio world. Most.

I remember a HE-400 owner talking about how he stopped using the D2000 after he received the HE-400... I think the first thing you'll notice if you do decide to get the HE-400 is the absence of that annoying and unnatural peaks in the treble range of the Beyerdynamics. The D2000 also has an annoying treble as well but the bass helped reduced my sensitivity towards it. The HE-400 probably has a much darker tonality to both.

And damn I just saw your list of stolen audio equipment :frowning2:     Too many bastards in this world *cry cry
