Does the dt250 velour pads fit on the dt48? I really want to see how the dt48s sound when using velour pads.

Also if anyone knows of any specific velour or cloth pads that fit the dt48, please let me know :)

No.

The DT48 have a completely different structure from any of the other Beyer headphones, and I can't really see any way of adapting it nicely.

Interesting idea. The DT250 pads are somewhat smaller, about 5 mm less around the rim, but could probably be stretched. It is also possible to cut the DT48 plastic disc to shape (I've done it for other pads) with a pair of scissors.

But note that the DT250 pads are ventilated - this surely affects the sound.

The disc to the left is part of the DT250 pad.

I just tried making pads out of socks last night and also tried some grado pads just to put them on as a spacer and both pads made the dt48e have zero bass. It was like listening to a tweeter. Only when supraaural directly listening on top of the baffle does one get any bass at all. I wouldn't want you to ruin your dt48 plastic baffle only to be dissapointed by the sound.

My DT250 pads are old (I use them on a Sony MDR-V6) and I don't want to risk them breaking on the DT48.

The DT48 baffle is included with the spare pads and is fixed to the headphone cup with double sided tape. So you can always get new ones if the experiment doesn't work.
