I've had my DT880s for about 3 years, and they have been great, but recently, I noticed that they have developed a channel imbalance.  If I play this file http://www.sensaphonics.com/test I notice that the high pitched tone is slightly to the left in the stereo image, and the low pitched tone is all the way to the left.  The bass frequencies are almost non-existent in the right channel.

How would I go about determining if this is a cable issue or a driver issue?  I would feel comfortable doing a recable myself, but I don't want to bother doing all that if its really a driver issue.  I measured the impedance and I get 653 ohms on one channel, and 650 on the other.  They are the 600 ohm model.  Thoughts?

I just opened them up to look for hairs.  I had to take the driver out of its housing, and sure enough, there was one hair on the diaphragm.  Its crazy how one hair can just totally destroy the sound.  Good news is that they seem to be all set now.  Thanks for the tip.

Speak for yourself. I'm still pleasingly hirsute.
