Hi Chris. I am not looking for the batteries, I am looking for a bigger cover that can fit larger batteries without having the need to use the silicon case or other cases.

Something like this. https://imgur.com/a/N81SO#280PP4F

Trotzdem Danke

I don't think those are available anywhere any longer. They work well and fit very well.

I bought this
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4500mAh-Extended-Rechargeable-Battery-Back-Case-Wall-Charger-For-Samsung-Galaxy-S-3-III-S3-i9300/661263146.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.0.IriJ4A
and I really enjoy it. I use the battery with silicon case and it is realy ok about double the capacity. I also did not find any thicken cover for dx50/dx90 ( I sent email to the seller but never answer me

Bought a used DX90. Came with one of those Kinps high capacity gold batteries (3250mAh). I cannot fit the back cover on with it though. Are there any high capacity S3 batteries that are higher than the usual 2100mAh but still just as small so I can still fit the back cover of the DX90 on?

Well - actually there are some higher capacity batteries that fit within the DX90 cover - 2300 versus 2100 so not a big increase but about 10% more:

https://www.amazon.com/Wasabi-Power-Battery-EB-L1G6LLAGSTA-GT-I9300/dp/B00AFDYNNC/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1492790563&sr=1-1&keywords=Wasabi+Power+Battery+%282-Pack%29+for+Samsung+EB-L1G6LLAGSTA+and+Samsung+Galaxy+S3

I ordered a pair of them but have not done any comparisons of runtime versus the stock batteries.

Cheers,
Tim

Actually, they have the same 2100mAh cells inside. I have one from PolarCell, disassembled and sent them a photo of the cell marked as 2100. They answered that the manufacturer claims 2300 and their test conditions show 2300 :D They refused to provide official datasheet from the manufacturer though.

And checked the mah came throughwith this like charger
http://m.ebay.com/itm/USB-Current-Voltage-Tester-USB-Voltage-Ammeter-USB-Detector-Double-Row-Shows-M89-/291549752209
And found that came through 5643 mah. I have both dx50 and dx90 and I am satisfied with the long term of use
I think these kind of batteries (extended) is more better for our use and specially for dx90.
I install the battery without the cover of course but with silicon case and it is pretty fine.
PM. I pulled the sealed tape off from the extended battery and it is actually two batteries working as one conected in parallel.

Ok I have come to conclude this quest for the perfect settings. First let me reveal what makes 2.2.0 L0 special: While all other firmwares invert the sounds, this one does it right. Test it on a song you know well (where for instance the singer sings close to you and the band is further from him) and see what I mean. Or just take my word for it which is much easier

Still the resulting sound did not feel to me like the "reference" sound, and by that I mean the result as the sound mixers/engineers intended it to be. So I applied EQ and I believe that the case is closed now.

So to sum up the settings:

1) Install 2.2.0 L0 firmware from Lurker's page

2) Create Custom EQ 0, 1, 2, 0, -2, -2, 0, 2, 1, 0 and turn it ON

3) Use LOW gain

4) Use Sharp Roll-Off

That's it !!!

After that the "chain" is yours to fix/adjust, by trying headphones, amplifiers etc. But up to that point it is my belief that you get the closest to studio-output sound. I invite Paul from Ibasso to try this and tell me his opinion. After all it is kinda sad that, while they managed to build such a wonderful hardware, they couldn't let it shine due to software. (they even admitted that the sound signature changed from firmware to firmware despite their intentions)

(One note regarding people that talk batteries. I do not believe that a battery other than Samsung's that is "feeding" the dx90 with the same voltage should make a difference in sound at all because I don't find any sense in that happening)

Thanks for this guide, I'm using it now on my DX90. Loving the results :)

If you don't mind, can you give us a little breakdown about how you've come up with this trick/adjustments? Did you use another DAP to compare it with?

After a few years of ownership, I have written and published a review of my DX90: http://kopfhoerer-lounge.blogspot.com/2017/07/iBasso-DX90-Review-my-love-and-my-touch.html
