I already ordered the e10 amp but i can still cancel it. Portability isnt required as i will only be using it with my desktop pc anyway. I have shure 840s and would like to know if there is a large improvement in the e17 rather then the e10 (an over $60 improvement) is it worth almost double the price

I would guess(?) with the Shure 840, both DAC/amps (E10, E17) would sound roughly about the same.

I think if there is a difference, it will be not much. The main reason why E17 is pricier is because you can use it as a portable amp
