I recently purchased an E17K Alpen 2 for use with my Onkyo DP-X1A DAP and have a couple of questions.

1) What is the latest firmware version for the E17K? The version on my device is E17KV01. Is this the most current version?

2) While listening to music via the AUX input on the E17K with my headphones, everything sounds fine. However, when I switch the input from AUX to USB or COX, I can still hear my music playing, even though USB and COX do not have a source plugged in. Is this normal?

3) When switching to USB or COX from AUX, the music volume decreases dramatically and I start to hear a lot of static and get crackling/popping feedback. Is this normal? I kind of figured that if you did not have a USB or COX source plugged into the E17K, that you wouldn't hear music being played through the USB and COX inputs.

Dear friend,

Sorry for the late reply.
1. The firmware of the E17K is not available for updating by user directly. So you don't need to care about the firmware version which would not affect daily using a lot.
2. If you are using the aux in and inputing analog signal, but could still hear the sound after switching to cox/usb, it seems abnormal. You may test the coaxial and usb input first.

Best regards
