I'm planning on gracing my dome with the creme de le creme Audiotechnica's W5000's within the week- and the E7 and E9 combo seems like a super convieniant solution. I understand that these can drive some pretty high impedence cans, and the W5000 like all AT headphones are pretty easy to drive. I read it's an alright combo with the W1000X, which has a similiar resistance.  Is this going to lead to an undesirable sound? Thanks for the feedback, and go easy on me, I'm just entering amp land.

Eh. I just bit the bullet and will be finding out the hard way. That'll lend itself to the learning process.

I know it'll "work" fine, I just know that every amp has it's own personality and some complement certain cans better.  Understandably I can't afford the 1,300 dollar amp that Audio Technica made specifically to play nice for the W5000 (maybe some day…) but I from what I know about the pro's and con's of the W5000's (beautiful for female vocals, classical etc) I was interested if anyone had some insight how the E7/E9 combo would play with the W5000's. I'll try to report back when it all arrives.
