Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

Not really. My Focal Utopia is 5 years and Meze repaired an empyrean I sold free of charge for the second owner for free after 5 years.
Yea, but headphones are a lot less delicate and usually remain tethered to a desk or non-portable setup. IEM’s are generally 1-2 years depending on the company, I assume because of the increased intricate nature and propensity to be easier to damaged.

Appreciate the update on the Launch Edition timeline. Do you know when the Standard Edition will reach dealers?
@Jack Vang

Can we get an answer to this? Is the standard edition releasing near the launch or will that be delayed too?

Will e-earphone in Japan have it at launch out of curiosity?
I don't have any information, so don't trust me, but from experience, there is quite a delay before we get such brand in store, also the price might be quite higher than purchase in $ directly, I would suggest you to find any retailer capable to ship or a friend to purchase for you.
However, EE arrive faster than UM (which is usually delayed by 3+ months to land here)

Most retailers have listed it as October.
I'd guess the standard edition won't ship out until beginning of November.
Maybe in Germany. But all of the retailers in the US I've seen indicate shipping first of September. Wouldn't be the first time it's been delayed though.

There is a raven review on youtube in Korean. He is giving detailed impressions of a voice heavy and a classical track. Any Korean speakers here to summarize? -)
monitors are quite big, but still has good fit, and not heavy
included cable is quite good.
very low impedence.
totl detail and resolution.
nothing lacking in bass/mids/treble; great balance
weighty bass; deep sub-bass
good imaging
has good width and depth in soundstage
good tonal balance
however, a more lively treble would have made the balance even better
feels like a good reference sound
"sugar" shell - thin shells

For the Kelly Clarkson song he say good imaging - good space between singer and instruments, good width and depth in soundstage, good bass (doesn't bleed into other frequencies)
For the classical he says good tonal balance, no instruments which stick out in a wrong way, good imaging (the semi-circle shape of the orchestra is well presented)

Not directed at you @ss2625 just the translated information.

I agree with most of that analysis but I would disagree with treble comment. I understand different regions like different tuning but the whole point of the Raven was to deliver top tier treble timbre and extension without getting too hot.

Yeah he does say "a very little" livelier treble. I think he was just nitpicking tbh since there seem to be not a lot of things he dislikes about it.
