Well, when I say 5kHz peak, I don’t mean a sharp peak that comes out of nowhere. I more so mean that 5kHz is where EE have chosen to place a small treble peak. Otherwise, the IEM would have no articulation at all.From your description I didn't notice much of a difference from LX except for 5khz peak that could even be a downgrade for some.
If you look at this measurement of the LX (granted, SE, but they’re identical in the treble):
You’ll also see a 5kHz peak, followed by a dip, then presence again between 8-10kHz. So, it’s not far off from what I described the Triton as having. If anything, the Triton at the moment might be even smoother in the treble, but further extended, hence its blacker background and stronger dynamics.
