I searched all over thinking there had to be a thread on this to no avail....

Now, I know that supposedly hf5's are supposed to be better... but to those who have tried both, is the difference noticeable? What exactly is supposed to be better?

Thank you!

Yes the only difference is the mic/control pod

Also FWIW I have listened to hf2 and hf5 side by side and confirmed for myself that they sound the same.

IMO if you have a player that can take advantage of the control button (play/pause/next-track/prev-track) it can be an awfully nice thing to have, even if you don't expect to use the mic.

but the hf5 is longer than the hf2 right?

It semms that the hf2 disappears in the ear, and the hf5 stands out.

I don't need/want the headset but i would prefer if the phones would stay completely IN my ears.

it does look pretty confusing...

but if you look here http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2282508,00.asp , it actually matches the hf5 length

Yes they are identical size and they are also virtually the same size as the barrels from the ER4. HF2 at top and ER4 at bottom

OK, thanks!

I was a bit confused from the pictures on etimotic's homepage.
