This might be more appropriate in general discussion, if so I apologize in advance. --

I haven't seen anyone else chatter about this on Head-Fi AFAIK, after doing a search for any talk about this particular eBay listing, so I figured I'd post about it here.

I'm not sure if this guy is a scammer, or simply a naive seller who didn't realize what he had.  If anyone would bother to do a price check against other recently completed auctions for these headphones, they'd find that the two recent sold auction prices that pop up are $750 and $1680.90 for the CD3000s, neither of which were in absolutely mint or NOS condition. This listing had a buy it now price of $59. Is this the lowest price ever paid for a pair of these revered cans?

Anyway, here's the listing! What are your opinions on this, fellow Head-Fiers?

I will certainly say I've been kicking myself for not finding them first!

It's a pawnshop, they probably just didn't know.

Quite frankly I've seen some of the dumbest $hit sell for too much and other stuff way too little on eBay.  This hobby is weird.

Yeah, exactly my thought. Some pawnshops can be real hagglers a lot of the time, but it's not surprising that headphones would be low in their knowledge base for pricing. You'd figure on eBay they'd at least do a LITTLE research beforehand.

Agreed though, I have seen prices go way too high for things on eBay, headphones certainly included.

Congrats to the buyer though. It still blows my mind.
