[FIIO BT11] Portable High-Res Bluetooth Transmitter Is Officially Released!
Nov 4, 2024 at 5:49 PM Post #466 of 628
I've just received my new BT11 and managed to connect it without any issues to my 2 pair of bluetooth headphones.

The only issue so far seems to be the Volume too low for my taste (and I did look at both input and output volume options).

I would greatly appreciate if FiiO could investigate and find a way to increase the output volume.

Does anyone have any help regarding BT11 playing for 30 seconds and then dropping out, recycling and then it plays, drops out again, recycles and over and over. My LDAC light stops blinking, turns to green and then my bluetooth connection drops, resets and I hear the LDAC voice prompting me that I can continue. However, I then need to go to the Apple music app and hit play again. These are with GO Pods. BT11 just doesn't want me to listen to one song all the way through. I have had for a few weeks and in beginning it seemed like after 20 minutes it would stick and be good. I'm on Version 1.0.7 on an Iphone 16 Pro Max....Thank you in advance. Tom

I have used a similar product before, LHDC One. It is great except that it only allows iPhone to connect LHDC device codecs, and the downside is that it is quite large. I have used both Creative BT-W5 and Sennheiser BTD-600, they only support Aptx***. Fiio bt11 is quite compact, supporting both aptx and ldac.

I really hope that Fiio BT11 can update LHDC in the upcoming firmware. As I understand it, LHDC is related to copyright and software licensing issues, not hardware limitations.

In addition, I think Fiio BT11 needs more improvement and has some flaws:

- Signal stability. The truth is that Fiio BT11 signal will sometimes drop even though the distance is only 1 meter and there are no obstacles, not really smooth.
- I find that Aptx HD, Aptx Adaptive connection is quite good, however I have not seen it reach Aptx Lossless level (I have tried connecting with Bose soundlink max).

for anyone who wants to know more about the LHDC One I used:

LHDC is not our current goal

We will prioritize the stability of LDAC, aptX Lossless, and decide later whether to support LHDC or not!

In addition, unlike the friend above, in fact, LHDC launch products, should to pay the entrance fee, this we do not have the need to have no incentive to spend the money, after all, LHDC is not much equipment, in addition to the stability of the launch equipment is not too sure :beerchug:

Hello Friend,
Please try restoring the factory settings, via the app, to see if that fixes the problem?

I had the opposite problem, the B&W Pi8 were too loud. The volume setting in USB Audio Player (bit perfect mode) did not work for me, but I managed to lower the volume by gestures on earbuds wo issue (I would preferer to adjust it by phone volume button for sure, like for everything else). The BT connection among phone, BT11 and earbuds is kind of weird and I ended up with BT switched off on my phone, BT11 plugged via USB-C and buds paired with BT11. I use Tidal via USB Audio player using bit perfect mode. And I am satisfied with the sound quality (sometimes the crackling sounds appear when music is paused and unpaused again) and the AptX Lossless has no dedicated color yet, so I am now waiting for all the bugs to be fixed (and for ability to update the FW with my S23 Ultra). I will also try to use Tidal official app as it should be able to provide bit perfect output, so the chain "sound source > path > earbuds" is as short as possible. Perhaps bit perfect mode is not needed? And I also wonder if B&W Pi8 case can be updated to transmit AptX Losseles not only Adaptive.

I think FiiO can study more about how some competitors in the market do it. For example, maybe you know Fiil? Fiil CC Pro 2 earphones can pay extra fee inside the app to activate LDAC codec (software version for android). I think many people will be willing to pay extra fee to activate additional Hires codecs. Or like LHDC One has annual subscription to use advanced features (called HDLC X).

I had similar issues on one of my devices. For me it was resolved by disconnecting from the phone's bluetooth (I was connected to both the phone and the BT11 at the same time).

Your BT11 or your wireless headphones were connected to the phone and the BT11 app or the unit itself at the same time? Which one did you disconnect? Thanks!

Sorry I wasn't more clear. The headphones were connected to both the phone and the BT11. I have gotten best results with only one BT connection, which is between the audio device and the BT11. Just turn off the phones bluetooth entirely to be sure, at least when connecting to the BT11.

So after a week of using the BT11 it sounds good to me overall.

The only thing that worries me is some crackling and interference when switching tracks, or when starting a track/album. Usually it passes in a few seconds, and sometimes it has to be paused and restarted.

It feels like the system is overloaded or something at this point.

Anyone have any ideas on this? Fiio?

There are no technical difficulties, this is business.

Did you know that we were the first to support LHDC (back when it was still called HWA)?
There's a story there that I don't want to get into here. :)

Dear ALL,

BT11, and The APP is planning to update (expected to be updated in 2~4 weeks):

1, Lossless will be completely independent, and perfectly adapted to BTR17. At present, we found that Qualcomm has some problems with the code of the transmitter, they are not so fast to solve, only we have to try it ourselves, so it will take a little longer!

2, Add LDAC transmission bit rate selection (partial sound quality connection / partial stability / sound quality and stability at the same time), the current problem of broken sound as well as noise, are because BT11 default work in the highest bit rate, which is not adaptable to some consumers.

3, Add the list of paired devices, this has actually been realized in the firmware, we will issue it together with other changes.:beerchug:

The BT11 does not show in the FIIO control app now/ iPhone 16. The BT11 is connected to the TWS and playing music just not connected to or showing in the app.

It did when first paired. I forgot the BT11 in the BT list wanting to reset, but apparently the dongle itself did not get the message.

How to make it show in the app? Or return to factory spec?
