I'm not sure if this is normal or not, but I just got my E11 and it's got a constant hiss to it on all volume levels, although it's more apparent the higher you get, it's quite distracting when listening in quiet environments or between songs, is this normal for the E11? I wouldn't consider it a very loud hiss but it's definitely there, and it is a little worry some.

Actually I think the M4s are really sensitive to hissing, which is a shame, that combined with the ever so slight hiss of the FiiO E11 is causing it, my HE-300s don't hiss with the E11.

Some amount of hiss with E11 is normal.
 
However, I have absolutely no problem with 25 ohm D7000. I cannot hear any hiss even when nothing playing. So it really seems your M4s are very sensitive to hissing...
