Dear friend,

Which output mode are you using when using Airplay? And did you try via other Wifi?

Best regards
The clicking happens on both headphone out and the line/pre out.
I have tried wifi too but the same thing happens. Can you try it with your team to hear if it happens to you too?

**edit
It seems the clicking/soft popping has stopped. Not sure if it was probably the unit or my internet connection.

Hello! I just bought the R7 and would like to utilize it as my main DAC and streamer for my set up. To do this, I would connect it via RCA to my amp that is connected to my speakers. Not through coax or digital correct? Coax and digital would not use the DAC of the R7 correct?

Has anybody managed to get the Exclusive DP mode to work? From my limited knowledge it allows you to display the screen of the R7 on another monitor using USB C cable between the two devices - have I got this correct? I've tried to find out online, and many reviews mention that it can be done but a)they dont explain how to do, and b)they don't share their experience of it.

I am interested in trying to use another DAC connected to the USB-A port on the R7. How do I go about doing that? What mode(s) are supported with an external dac connected to the USB-A port? I tried to connect an external dac to the USB-A port (USB-C is being used from computer to R7) but it seems like nothing was being passsed to the DAC so not sure if I am missing something. I didn't really see anything in the manual about how to use an external dac with it..anyone used it in this way?

Dear friend,

Yes. What's the port of your display? HDMI or C port?
You could use the HDMI to C or C to C cable for connecting the display to the USB C port of the R7.
And the screen of the R7 will be displayed to the monitor at that time:

Thanks for reply.

I know I'm probably missing something obvious but I still cannot get this to work. I had already tried using USB C - USB C cable to connect my R7 to an Android tablet but had no success which was why I asked for help.
Can you please provide step by step instructions for how to perform this - eg which mode should R7 be in etc etc.

Thanks.

Dear friend,

Does your Android tablet support this connection? Working as just a display?
The R7 could connect to TV or display via DP mode. A user tried the display with C port before, the DP mode will work after connecting with the C to C cable. No extra setting is needed in the R7.

Best regards

Dear friend,

In Android/Pure music/Roon Ready mode, you could connect the R7 to the external USB DAC via either usb port in the R7.

Hello together,

I have now noticed several times that the music playback has stopped, so completely mute. Use the app "Radio Fritz", but so far I can not identify the cause. In clock mode, the animation continues to run below the supposedly what is scanned. Must then restart the playback anyway ...

Use the same app on my smartphone (Android 13) and had not yet observed this phenomenon.

Has anyone made similar observations?

With kind regards
Ali Babz

Dear friend,

Do you mean this APP:

I tried for about 30mins but did not reproduce the issue. Are there any other setting or operation when the issue happens?

Best regards

It's an Android device, so there are loads of third-party apps that will rotate the screen into any orientation you want from a widget in the notification shade. You can even set specific apps to automatically open in specific orientations. This will only work in the "Android Mode" mode, as the other inputs all switch the screen back to portrait mode when in use.

The main problem is that most music apps I've tried aren't designed to be used in landscape mode on tiny-low resolution screens like the R7, but then I guess the Android DACs/Streamers that have landscape screens must have a specific first-party music player that has been specifically designed to worker better in landscape mode.

For reference, this is what the FiiO Music app looks like on the R7 in landscape mode (only two songs visible at a time in lists and the "now playing" screen can't fit the whole album art in or the file metadata which is usually below it):

I'm definitely glad that the R7 has a portrait display, Android and its apps are not built to be run in landscape mode on anything smaller than a tablet.

Side note, has anyone else experienced the issue where the "home button" gesture and the notification shade just stop working, as in I can't pull the notification shade down at all or exit from an application using the swipe up from bottom of screen gesture? This has happened to me multiple times, and even when I switched from gesture navigation mode to the three buttons at the bottom of the screen (the on-screen ones, not the capacative ones below the screen), those also stopped appearing/working at all at some points. Had to restart the entire device to fix.
Anyone else having this issue? Even with the latest firmware at the time of posting (1.0.3) I frequently have the issue where screen gestures (like swiping down from the notification shade, or swiping up from the bottom to go back to the home screen) no longer works and the only fix is to reboot the device.
