The X1's build quality, big screen, scrollwheel and SQ vs. the ClipZip's portability, rockbox, OLED screen and the extra 4GB of memory. Both have similar battery life.

Is the Fiio worth upgrading to?

Will it be a significant improvement in SQ given that my music collection is mostly 320kbps mp3s? My earphones are Westone W30 and I don't intend to use an amp.

Please chime in!

Read and make your decision: http://www.head-fi.org/t/691332/the-all-new-fiio-x1-192k-24b-pcm5142-dac-and-100mw-output-with-lo-and-inline-remote

Believe me I've been reading. Doesn't seem like there is a definitive answer whether the SQ will be better on the X1 with 320kbps mp3s...

Prob just have to buy the X1 and try for myself...

I don't think the Westone's are going to see much benefit from moving to the X1. They are very efficient and easily driven by the Clip, right? I think the answer would be different with different headphones.

Worth is always relative, even if you can afford it.

A glass of water is worth much to a man dying of thirst, but is worthless to a drowning man... :p
