Focal Clear headphones

Hello, folks. I listen to mostly Jazz, Pop and Hip-Hop. My current cans are the D7000s. I was considering the LCD-X, LCD-3 and some of the ZMF's before watching some of the new video reviews.

Has anyone been able to listen to either of those genres to any meaningful degree? Impressions would really help me make a good decision here. I like bass.

I’m a bassist so I think bass is good!! :)

I’ve listened to all those genre’s except hip hop. Some of the Jazz I listen too has heavy bass and kick drum tracks. The Clear may be right up your ally

As an Elear owner I'm really pleased about the Clear's arrival. They look gorgeous, but I love the Elear so no desire to "up"grade; what I do want is the Clear's 1.2m cable!

Audio Sanctuary (or any trade members) do you know if you'll be getting any in to buy separately?
Just heard back from Focal about availability of the Clear cables, January/February should be around dealers will have them for a separate purchase!

I’m very interested in these. I owned a pair of Focal 1008 Be loudspeakers for several years and enjoyed the sound and loved the fit and finish. The Utopia is way out of my budget, but if the Clear can approach them at $1,500, then I may go for it.

I really like the way they look, too, with the grey and silver finish. If I do buy them, it’s going to necessitate a new balanced amp as well.
Nice Focal 1008! Really pretty speakers, got them in our showroom and they are quite nice.

The Source AV has the Clears available for preorder and will be shipping preorders in the last week of October! We also have a fair number of balanced amp options in our showroom.

I’ll come buy for a listen; I’m about 20 miles away from your store and have never been.

Hope Focal fixed the MAJOR driver issue with bass-heavy music bottoming the Elear drivers. Such a bad design.

interesting. I'll keep these close on my radar.

I need to get some more impressions of those new ZMF's. Then I'll try to decide between them.

The Clears I listened to I hit with light levels and headsplitting levels and wasn’t able to bottom out before serious Ear damage would have occurred. In short I punished all 4 units and found no capability issues with the drivers not handling the low frequencies.

Since I have no problems from my Elear like the bottoming out or crackling people describe I don't think I'll be interested in these. I don't think they will sound that much better than the Elear plus I think the Elear has more bass impact than the Clear as it's more a reference headphone it seems. I'm sure it will be a great headphone but if I'm going to upgrade it's going to be with something else.

That’s promising. I will visit my local dealer in Raleigh to re-evaluate. Thx

They have to fill complete Clear orders before they make enough to create an accessory product.

We have sent in an order large enough to make the product available sooner and hopefully it works out to be sooner
