I'd like to know the answer to that too.

"Hi Phil,

Clear and Clear Professional are very similar. Indeed, only the finishes Black and Red Vs Grey) and the accessories supplied are different.
Clear Professional is sold with a 5m coiled cable, a 1.2m cable, a 3.5mm to 6.35mm adapter and a pair of additional cushions.

Best regards,
Marine, Community Manager Focal"

It's been asked and answered already.

Studio headphones like the AKG 240, HD 600 and HD 650 are also bizare?

Some record labels also use the Sennheiser HD 800 for mastering even.

The HD 600/650 are studio monitors? Hmmmm. And yes, I'd think that if you were in the mixing booth you'd want zero sound leakage from outside in order to make sure you get it right. Then again, I'm not a sound guy, so what do I know?

They are screwing up their market value riding this hype train... Should've focused on making a MKII of the Elear at a more affordable price. Elex without the Elex name. They need to introduce their name to the more mid-end minded market rather than appease the top of the heap and chase rainbows and unicorns.

The El** is a downgraded variant of the Elear ....

Proof? Even if you are an official seller, your claims are quite bold. Same driver, same housing, slightly different tuning, different pads, different cables, different color and no carrying case.

Ask yourself one question. I’m sure you’ll see logic in it. Why would a variant of the Clear be made available through any reseller on current product at a price below the Elear. It doesn’t sound like BS to you?

Still not proof, that logic doesn't always apply. Clear case of that would be why does Sennheiser sell HD650s at $200 dollars on a reseller site and not price all their HD650s that were on the market at 200. Yeah they use a cheaper housing, that's it, tuning and drivers are the exact same. Also why would they make the HD58x and undercut their HD660s and HD700 sales? Massdrop was all about targeting a larger audience, nobody knows the brand name Focal. That was their attempt to introduce to the market their name. Hi, I'm the LV of the headphone world right now, heres a discounted product specifically tuned through community feedback, this is a once in a lifetime deal. That's what Focal did with Massdrop. Not just make a Clear variant to undercut themselves. THEN they got a bunch of people to hype the Clear. Now everyone is saving for a Clear. THEN they release the Clear Pro for those who want a different color and labeled it for music makers. Bold move.

Become a dealer for Focal. They’ll tell you the same they tell us dealers. Then you’ll have your proof. Actually they aren’t releasing the Clear Pro for you to have a choice. They developed it specifically for the recording industry.

Edit: no matter how hard you try I’m not going to be upset by your comments. So far here in the store we are all getting a good laugh

Regardless, I'm just here fueling the flames. This thread is always entertaining and just because they tell you something doesn't mean its always the truth.

You may be “fueling other flames” but I am way to thick skinned for your comments.
