Radiance ordered :)

I think I'll get a cable from Forza AudioWorks. This one maybe https://forzaaudioworks.com/en/product.php?id_product=105 with a 4.4 mm balanded plug. Are Radiance connectors like Stellia/Elear/Elegia/Clear or like Utopia? Can't select Radiance in the list.

And I think I'll get the iFi GO bar as DAC/amp (even though it's for home use). Feel free to tell me if you have better options! Thanks.

They are just the basic 3.5mm cales. Only the Utopia has the unusual cables.

I have been going through this thread looking for comparisons with Noire and I think Radiance suits my preferences better.

Radiance is going to be on sale for $600 in India during black friday sale, do you guys think it's worth it?
Radiance and Noire are different headphones and like I’ve said before in this thread they are different enough to own both.

The Noire handily beats the Radiance for resolution and detail retrieval and is super compact for flights or transit. It’s got a great tuning and overall an excellent headphone.

Having said that the Radiance has much better timbre and super easy to drive where the Noire needs a tonne of power. The Noire is absolutely dead in dynamics. I mean it’s totally void of punch and slam which is super disappointing where the Radiance is incredible in that department.

I think they’re both great headphones but side by side I’d always chose the Radiance unless I was specifically looking for a flight headphone. At the end of the day I sold the Noire, bought an IEM and put the rest towards an Eikon.

The Radiance at its MSRP is totally worth the price. At $600 it’s bonkers. Buy with complete confidence.

Absolutely. That's a fantastic price.

I read your comparison a few minutes ago and decided to go with Radiance. I prefer dynamic sounding headphones and I have been wanting to try a Focal and Bentley seems to the first.

Thanks guys for your replies.

I put these headphones on about 11 days ago. I liked them, but they seemed a little tame. After a few days of feeling underwhelmed, I put on the Cascades. Immediately I felt, "There's the boom!" After about three days with the Violectric V220 (Very warm amp) and the iFi Pro iCAN (with no effects enabled), it was too much for me. The boom was everywhere and messy/noisy music did not always sound very good. I then switched to a nice clean Rebel amp. Cleaned up the sound nicely and appeared much more balanced. On Saturday I decided to try out the Radiance again to see how much difference there was.
Holy crap! Mids were sweeter, the treble was just fine and the bass was amazing! So balanced and yet so bassy. Sounded just about perfect to me. I listened for about 8 to 9 straight hours. New rock, old rock and jazz all sounded as good as they ever have. Reactions are SO relative to what we were expecting and where we came from. The Cascades destroyed my Radiance's and taught them what fun was. Then this Saturday, putting the Radiance on was like going from a $299.00 headphone to a $1,299.00 headphone.

The Cascades will always be an occasional source of some bangin' bass. The Radiance are just awesome and can be worn for many straight days with any kind of music. Glad I stretched my budget for them.

My chain is laptop files to BF2 to various amps to Radiance via Hart Audio cables.

What do you have to drive them?
My Radiance is part of my travel kit I run it balanced so for my portable favorites I have a gryphon and a dx312 but a btr5 and m11 pro also will work the Radiance scales well.
For home I have a ifi pro stack, woo firefly and a cap moded liquid platinum all have upgraded tubes.
It's always good to try it with what you have.

Mojo 2 arrived this morning.

Connected to my Focal Radiance headphone and wacked up DSP BASE 20Hz to +7db.

Then played following YouTube Base track.

I started violently rocking my head to the Base Slam rhythm even so my headphones slipped off my head three times.

Didn’t realise my Wife was starring at me. She also started shaking her head, but at me in disapproval.

I'm about to order the iFi audio GO bar that I'll use to drive my future Radiance :)

I like the fact it's powered by USB and a lot of people here seem to be very happy with the iFi audio gear combined with the Focal headphones in general. It's basically for a home use only so I don't know if you'd have other suggestions for more or less the same price. (I live in Europe.)

Same thing with the cable. I'm about to buy the Copper Series from Forza AudioWorks (4.4 mm balanced). Thank you!

Yup, we've got a ton of feedback about our products sounding great with various Focal cans. Most our devices are more on the warm, meaty and round side than analytical and dissective, which is something Focals enjoy a lot.

If I were you, for desktop use I'd have a think about our ZEN range, unless you want a dongle. In that case GO Bar is very cool and should make you happy. Hope this helps, thanks!

I was considering the Zen range, but when i asked iFi UK about the Diablo they said it is superior based on just sound performance compared to Zen. what would you say?

That's correct. iDSD Diablo is above the ZEN range as far as sound quality goes. However, here it should be said that ZEN products are meant for desktop use, while iDSD Diablo is a transportable device, so the choice between them also should depend on your use case scenario. Hope this helps, thanks!

Thank you so i want the best sound performance at home and it will be connected to power all the time. Basically desktop.

Then Diablo is better for me then Zen range?

Also next step up on pure performance is your big iDSD PRO desktop device. The £2000+ version?
