Mine is depleted in about 8 hours, bass boost on, max volume on the amp and used with Ety ER4P. Reviews and advertising said 20 hours (presumably in normal use).

For how does yours last?

Advertising said if you use 16 ohm earbud with no bass boost, normal listening volume (which is like 3/20 or 4/20), than it will last for 20 hrs (test is alway done with minimum setting). I once tested the battery with my JVC earbud (which is 16 ohm) with volume 4/20 and it lasted roughly 18hrs. I'll say it is close to spec and good enough.

Still, I am somewhat disappointed with only ~8h on my ER4P (27 ohms) with bass on and full volume

If you turn your source's volume up a bit and lower E5 volume at the same time, I am sure you will get better mileage out of the combination.

That's if I use it with a 3.5mm and not a LOD, as the LOD cancels the source's amp.

And besides, I tend to listen to rips which are mastered quite lowly compared to nowadays 'loudness wars' standards and I need all the volume I can get.

Oh well, will have to recharge more often then.. Still a great little amp the Fiio E5

Isn't that a bit too loud? I mean LO + E5's full volume + ER4P?

If I listen to some CDs from the mid 80es, no, I wouldn't say so. They tend to be very quiet.

Also, I mostly listen while on the way in a loud environment. Home I turn the volume down a bit.

Just make sure it isn't too loud, You won't want to join Deaf-fi.org anytime soon
