For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?

Another banger from the London jazz scene that masquerades as an old school funk album, Could We Be More by Kokoroko.
Quickly becoming a personal fave with it’s infectious drive.
Seeing as the production is seductively warm, I thought the neutrality of the 7Hz Salnotes Zero was a perfect fit. Seems I wasn’t wrong.

Qobuz > roon > HoloAudio Cyan 2 > Violectric V222 > Sennheiser HD800S

The World Is Flat and other alternative facts (2017) by Silhouette - This one popped up on roon radio after a Pallas album finished. They are a Dutch neo-prog band and have been going since 2005, this is their fifth album. I haven't been wowed by the vocals, they aren't the strongest but the music is excellent and varied. Apart from the main band they also have guests adding backing vocals, flute, violin, oboe and french horn, so not exactly a straight forward rock band. The HD800S won the toss this morning and they are doing a nice job of adding space between all those instruments, it leaves the music sounding wide open and highly detailed.

Somewhere between the funky bits of Pink Floyd and psychedelic disco, this band just seems to hit all the right notes for me. It’s funky, melodic, earthy, danceable and yet psychedelic in a groovy way. Great musicianship but never any real showing off…which suits the overall feel of this thing perfectly.
The 7Hz Salnotes Zero are doing a wonderful job shoving the music down my ears.

Not since @FreeWheelinAudioLuv2 's epic pimping for CCA Trio , have I seen such gallant propping for an iem! Impressive!

Hah! It’s actually two iems I’ve been championing, but I am wildly enamoured by both:)
The one I’ve listened to today is the original 7Hz Salnotes Zero, collab with Crinacle, and then there is the new one simply named Zero 2, which is a slightly warmer take on it. I love both and think of them as the iem world’s answer to the Sennheiser HD600 and HD650…but with clear undistorted subbass👌
Inspired by the recent Syd Arthur posting, I thought I’d spring for Apricity. Art rock/pop at it’s finest sporting a modern production with lots of electronics thrown in compared to the debut.

Todd Rundgren doing pork rock. At home with the Silver Sundara on my head and digging the vibes.
I believe this record really pushed the envelope in terms of how much music you could put on one side of an LP - often ending up with sound quality issues because of the epic A Treatise On Cosmic Fire clocking in at over 35 minutes. The digital age has thankfully made this problem obsolete.

I love Syd Arthur and that is one brilliant debut album. I believe they toured with Yes for this one. Would have loved to see them live. Also really dig both Soundmirror and Apricity. Great songwriting and a unique musical personality.

Absolutely! They're one of those bands that I heard for all of 30 seconds before I knew I was a fan. Their music just caught my attention so quickly and it wasn't like anything else getting put out at the time.

Topical Content:

I'm out and about doing some adulting today at meetings with attorneys and label reps (so lame, but necessary🤫). The way you can tell that I haven't made it to rock star status yet is that I'm listening to tunes in the lobby of my attorneys' office while he keeps me waiting. 😂

Anyways, I'm rocking the CFA Supermoons and my iBasso DX160 (w/ Fidelizer ROM). The DX160 is a little laggy, but it just sounds too good for me to care. It has this musical sound, but without being particularly warm that I really dig and it pairs well with planar IEMs in particular.

Kicking off the festivities is dios trio's 2017 album, II. I wanted something with some energy and enthusiasm to get me in a good mood and this rec certainly fits the bill. It's math rock played with a kind of whimsy or reckless abandon that I really enjoy. I always find myself drumming along on whatever surfaces are available whenever I list to dios trio. Yes, they use lowercase stylization. I feel like this album is the musical version of a cup of coffee. ☕🤘😎
