For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?

It's funny, it was only the invasion of this thread by the Grado army that peaked my interest to be honest, I've never really been curious about them until now. I thought they were all uncomfortable, entirely missing in the bass region and were treble happy in the extreme, not really my favoured signature. So I took quite a chance by ordering the SR325X, not really knowing what to expect. I was certainly expecting to have to order replacement pads but surprisingly I found I could wear them for hours. The sound was instantly not what I expected, the mids are a bit special, they actually had bass that had texture and layers and the highs weren't even slightly brain frying
One of the reasons I didn't want to start using other headphones again was that the Grados were still developing, they seem to sound better and better the more I use them - and I've never really been a big follower of the burn in religion.
I think it's more of a Brain burn thing except when it comes to planar phones. All the hype about the Grados had me itching to hear them also. I'm hoping for instant Gradofication from them. 😀

EQ is like Salt and Pepper in my book. It can make a good headphone sound amazing with the right amount. 😉
You are from The North?

Early Dorothy. This Album has a total 60's vibe with a modern touch. :L3000:
K7XX < Luxman R-113 < Loxjie D30 < Amazon Music HD.

Quite a coincidence - I'm currently playing Gifts From The Holy Ghost, the 2022 album :L3000:

Be careful with the brain burning... We want you to keep safe :relieved:

Regarding to the thread' title, it's curious when you are using one pair of headphones for around a week and then you swap to another pair and revisit some songs you have listened with the other pair, then you have to accustomed to the new signature, like you mentioned, with a little "brain burning" just with some songs... Then, you have to decide if you want to analyze music or just enjoy it (I mostly belong to the latter :L3000:).

K340 Electrostat - Dynamic System < Luxman R-113 < Loxjie D30 < Amazon Music HD.
My favourite Rush album - I always remember, when it was released, my wife was reduced to tears by Xanadu - she never listened to rock music, bit of a disco diva (haha), so I sat her down in my listening chair and dropped the needle - the effect was quite extreme

I find brain burn in takes me a couple of hours on the first hearing but after that I can just swap headphones and I adjust almost instantly, as though the signature is stored away for fast recall. When I bought the HD650 (unheard) I sat there and listened and pretty much hated them for two hours and then all of a sudden they sounded glorious. That was coming from listening to AKG K702 for months.
