And when sleep won't come, you just keep listening. 😂 I switched over to the 64Audio Volurs (M12 Module installed) so I can do some more tip rolling experiments on these bad boys. I ordered these in December and the first pair I got was damaged in route to me so I had to exchange them and this pair showed up just in time before I headed out so I still haven't spent that much time with them, but they really are a very live and natural sounding pair of IEMs with very powerful bass, great staging, and high level techs. I'll be running them off the Kann Alpha still.

For now, I'm going with some more instrumental goodness with a more atmospheric feel with last year's release from Circles Around The Sun entitled Language. This album has a bit of a psychedelic feel to it at times with drums that reach deep and sound cavernous and guitar and keyboard tones that sound like a throwback to the early 70s. This is an album about which I think any fan of rock genres can find something to love. 🤘😎

A Cell To Call Home (2023) by Advent Horizon - One of my favourite albums of last year from Advent Horizon, a prog(ish) band out of Salt Lake City and in their own words they play a "hybrid of 70's prog and 90's rock with a blues twist" - the result is rather good. Featuring guest performances from Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater), Dave Meros (Spock's Beard) and Randy McStine (Porcupine Tree), the tracks all sound quite different but due to the excellent song writing the standard is very high. The DT1990's work well with this album and their previous release, Stagehound which I listened to earlier, the bass has a nice growl to it, the vocals and guitars sound very good and tons of detail in the highs.

Work setup this morning featuring the SMSL DO100, the XDUOO TA-26 and the DT770's.
I really need to get some better closed back or invest in a proper IEM set. The DT770's do fade when there is a set of HE1000's lying around :D

Oh whoa I remember this from the past! This is the track i was struggling to remember when all the raves (rightly) were going on about Horikawa's Bubbles recently as i was reminded, somewhat, of this.

This afternoon/evening I've broken out the ZMF Atriums for the first time in a while and I'm running them off the Schiit Lyr (Amperex Bugle Boy ECC88s) with the Modi Multibit 2 decoding the optical out from a Wiim Mini. This is a pretty basic, but highly effective and great sounding signal chain. Everytime I put the Atriums on after some time away, I remember exactly why I was so stoked to buy a pair after trying them out at a friend's house.

At the top of my queue is a 2014 live album from Malted Milk entitled On Stage Tonight. This band does a mashup of funk, soul, R&B and blues that's always fun to listen to. This album makes me want to see them live as it sounds like it would be a great show. They definitely bring the energy! 😎

My fix for the my 701 was pad change.

Ripped the old pads which made it a boring ass headphone.

Have no clue if anyone has done this but the headphones have bass.
