Most of the time I find myself enjoy the Kennerton GH50-JM Edition mk2, or the ZMF Eikon. But at this very moment it’s the GH50. They just check every box for me…. Amazing across many genres, PERFECT bass for my tastes and very capable of electronic music, they’re comfortable, lightweight, and good looking too.

And I’ve said it on the forums before but I still think the iFi Gryphon is my preferred DAC and Amp. Even over my fancier desktop options. And even with the 300ohm Eikon.

I spent this afternoon evaluating earbuds so I can do an impressions post. I decided it was time to switch that up so I grabbed the Audeze LCD-3s and I'm currently running them off the JDS Labs El Amp 2+/Subjective 3/El DAC 2+ stack which is the listening station I have next to my lounge chair. I finally made a decision on the trade so once dude shows up to grab the 1266 Phi TCs I'll be the proud new owner of both the LCD-4s and the LCD-3s. 👍😎

At the top of this evening's queue is Native Construct's 2015 album, Quiet World. This is a solid album that hovers back and forth between metal-prog and neo-prog sections, but melds them into a nicely cohesive whole. I could do without some of the more growly/screamy vocals on a track or two, but the top-notch musicianship and highly competent songwriting more than make up for a couple niggles with stylistic vocal choices. Definitely a cool release. 🤘😎

I continue to be amazed at just how good the DT-880/600 can sound considering its price point.

One of my favorite albums of all time, and realized I haven't listened with the Sza's... Raw prog rock with a pop influence just like the very obvious Rush influence, Coheed just slaps man. I'll never forget hearing this album for the first time, 14 years old sitting in the back during a roadtrip. Timeless.

Have you listened to their latest LP, Vaxis Act II? It takes the prog influences significantly further. The whole album is based around a continuing story and concept about a future world. Check it out if you haven't yet. 🤘

yeah, super good album! a disappearing act and shoulders are jams, probably overdue to revisit that one.
