I use the angled HM5 pads. More comfortable and more proportional imaging (cymbals moved towards center and pushed back a bit).
Note you have to gut the worn out earpads, then mount the HM5 pads onto the plastic rings, trimming any excess that blocks off the protrusion that locks onto the Sennheiser earcup, then snap it back on.
They're asymmetrical, just like the AKG K7-- series earpads. They're thicker to the rear and give the headphones an angle relative to the ears somewhat similar to speaker toe-in.
