Anyone have any experience with this OTG DAC?

Specs:

DAC chip: WM8533
Playback performance24bit/192KHz
Frequency:  20Hz-20KHz
Sensitivity: >103dB
Distortion: <0.013%
Power current: 600mA max
Output: 1460mV

Impedance16Ohm~150Ohm

If I get a good enough phone (Galaxy 7 for example), would this be unnecessary?

I would only be using it for 16-32ohm IEMs, so I'm less confident in it's claims of an amplifier and more interested in it's capability/reliability as a DAC.

I have an Xduoo X3 and FiiO E12 amp for more serious portable listening. Just looking for something for use with a phone when I don't feel like lugging around the dedicated stuff.

Thanks,

Hey @Slater .

Became interested in this ultra portable dac/amp after @Viber 's recent good review.
Unfortunately it seems to have a pretty high output impedance (~5 Ohm) as can be seen here so with most IEM's having ~16 Ohm or less one can expect side effects ranging from sound coloring to total crapifying (as with KZ ZS5 which notoriously needs a very low output impedance source as its own impedance is ~5 Ohm).
So right now I'd say it's more or less either a gamble or a matching exercise (depending on your headset impedance but even most over-ear are ~32 Ohm so...) and personally I'll stick with my more cumbersome but also more potent AQDF Black (0.5 Ohm).
Cheers.
